Pearl Cohen Germany

Munich office of Pearl Cohen

We are a U.S. law firm - with German-speaking U.S. attorneys-at-law on site in Germany. We advise European companies, law firms and government institutions directly on U.S. law: precisely, efficiently and without detours.

We are not a sales office of a U.S. law firm. Our attorneys from the Munich office will advise you directly on U.S. law. If necessary in individual cases, additional experts from one of our U.S. offices can be consulted for support after prior consultation with the client.

Our focus is on intellectual property and commercial law issues with a U.S. connection. We represent European clients who assert claims or defend themselves against lawsuits in the USA. At the same time, we assist with complex legal issues and with the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts under U.S. law.

With around 200 lawyers worldwide, we offer the necessary depth and clout for demanding mandates. Our Munich office is your central point of contact for European clients: directly accessible on site during European business hours and with a consistent focus on results and cost efficiency.

Transparency, cost efficiency and reliability are not promises for us, but requirements.

Our Services

Prosecution

We focus on EP patent prosecution, bridging the differences between U.S. and EP law and representing our clients in grant proceedings before the EPO and GPTO.

Infringement

We represent our clients in Post Grant Proceedings, i.e. opposition, infringement and validity, before the UPC, EPO, GPTO, and German Federal Patent Court . We assist in coordinating the infringement proceedings in Europe with ongoing infringement proceedings in the United States.

Legal opinions

Our clients frequently rely on us to analyze EP and DE intellectual property rights. We assess their validity and investigate potential infringements - often in the context of freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses or IP due diligence.

Secure & defend.
Always 100%.

Our team at Tautz & Schuhmacher in Munich and Washington, D.C. advises American businesses in all aspects of intellecutal property rights in Europe.
